The Comparison Complex
Motion Graphics & Spatial Design

Project Overview
Unpacking Hyper Competitive Behaviour in an Asian Context. Exploring the deep-rooted cultural pressure of social comparison in many Asian societies. It examines how this intense competition, driven by the belief that individual success reflects on the entire family and community, has fueled remarkable national progress. However, the video also delves into the hidden costs of this hyper-competitive environment, including rising rates of anxiety and depression, and how modern technology has amplified the pressure. It ends by exploring the need for a new, more sustainable model of success that prioritizes well-being and a new definition of "a good life."
